Household Products
The household products industry is vitally concerned with disinfection of household surfaces, water and plumbing systems, and human hygienic needs. Difficulties associated with killing bacteria attached to these diverse surfaces are well known in this industrial sector and considerable R & D effort is directed at developing products which kill or remove biofilms. Important research-related questions are listed here.
- How to Detect, Quantify and Control biofilms on wetted surfaces?
- How do biofilms on variably wetted surfaces differ from fully hydrated biofilms?
- on solid inert surfaces
- on biological surfaces (skin)
- What are implications of biofilms related to human hygienic products?
